Russian cyber-attack targets routers and modems across the globe

The FBI has recently released a Public Service Announcement about Russian malware targeting several brands of routers including Linksys, Mikrotik, netgear, QNAP, TP-Link and others. This attack has compromised hundreds of thousands of routers worldwide. The malware is able to collect information, exploit devices, block network traffic and cause other problems with the routers that are infected.

The FBI States that rebooting home and office routers, changing and making a more complex passwords, installing latest firmware and disabling remote management may temporarily disrupt the attack.
